To others, Trow may seem like wild beasts.
The Trow were first discovered when they began raiding settlements at the foot of the Roof of the World mountains. Unusual weather patterns had driven away most of their game and the Trow resorted to raiding in order to survive. Those raids marked the beginning of Trow enslavement. Some Trow were captured and used as slave labor. In time those Trow were bred. Their children, more docile than wild Trow, helped prop up the economy of the Twilight Empire. Initially, the mountain Trow attempted to free their brethern but the resulting wars

only resulted in more captures. Individually, the Trow are great warriors. Together, however, they made a poor army. When the Twilight Empire dissolved the practice of Trow slavery continued in the individual kingdoms and city-states that remained. During the war Rock-Fist, the god of mountains, made a bargain with his fellow gods. In exchange for the freedom of the domestic Trow, all Trow would join the war effort. Following the orders of their deities, the Church of the Nine declared the Trow free. Afterwards, some Trow remained in their homelands as full citizens while others journeyed to the Roof of the World and rejoined Trow society, bringing with them new ideas.

Personality

What do you mean it's too far to jump? The worst that can happen is we break our legs. Live a little! Here. Have some ale. That'll give you courage.

—Kosh, Trow Hunter,

Wild Trow tend to be boisterous, crude, and life loving. Life is hard and every possible drop of joy should be squeezed from it. That includes drinking, mating, and perfoming reckless but exhilerating stunts. Domestic Trow are still emerging from the shadow of slavery. They tend to be more civil in behavior. Older domestic Trow are often much like whipped dogs, still looking for favor from their masters. The Younger domestic Trow tend to be rebellious, often overcompensating in their efforts to be more like their wild cousins.

Physical Description

A short Trow stands at about seven feet. A tall Trow can reach as high as nine. They typically weigh between five hundred and seven hundred pounds. Trow have pinkish skin covered with a long, thick fur that can be brown, green, reddish brown, black, and black blue in color. Their arms are long, with fingers reaching down to their ankles when they stand straight. Trow have three fingers and one thumb on each hand. They have two eyes and two noses. The second nose is located between and slightly above the eyes. A Trow mouth is large and filled with sharp teeth, including elongated canines.

Lifespan

Trow have an average lifespan of forty years and are considered adults at the age of ten.

Relations with other races

Tense would be a nice way to describe things. Wild Trow tend to distrust other races, though they will accept individuals who prove themselves capable of surviving Trow-style in the mountains. Trow in the city-states and kingdoms are often mistrusted or scorned, especially by humans, Ethereals, and Nocturnes. In return, domestic Trow tend to be either cautious, worried slavery will return, or rebellious, wanting revenge for the wrongs against their race.
