A Timeline of Keep Flying

Before the game

  • 2050 (approximately). A mass exodus from Earth-That-Was in massive colony arks occurs.
  • 2150 (approximately). The colony arks arrive in a new system and terraforming begins. Not every ark made it.
  • 2485
    • James born and shortly thereafter left at the orphanage.
  • 2492.
    • Delphinia Duke's dad disappears, never to be seen again, leaving the 10 year old in charge of maintaining a mud harvester.
  • 2499.
    • Vincent Lock moves from Osiris to Persephone.
  • 2500
    • James attends military school.
  • 2502.
    • Delphinia Duke leaves Higgin's Moon aboard the Flying Star, captained by Lex Walker.
    • Vincent Lock and his familty leave Persephone.
  • 2503
    • James begins covert operations career.
  • 2504.
    • After getting dumped by her previous captain, Delphinia joins the crew of the Quick Draw, a Firefly class ship captained by Jon Plume.
    • Vincent's parent's die in a shuttle accident.
  • 2505.
    • The War of Unification begins.
    • Nadie Ling's Family Flees Paquin to Victoria Falls, Regina.
  • 2506.
    • The crew of the Quick Draw goes to war, donning the browncoats.
  • 2508.
    • Kenneth Ling goes to War
    • Vincent purchases his first ship, the Jade Eagle.
    • The Jade Eagle is destroyed.
  • 2509.
    • Dr. Cage is dishonorably discharged from the military.
    • Vincent's ship Haven's Saber is confiscated by the Alliance, and Vincent is placed under "house arrest".
  • 2510.
    • The War of Unification ends.
    • Dr. Cage begins work at St. Huron's on Ariel thanks to family contacts. He is eventually fired on suspicion of stealing painkillers.
  • 2511.
    • Dr. Cage begins work at the New Angeles Hospital on Bernadette. He is eventually fired because of suspected theft of medication.
    • Vincent begins work as a freelance smuggler
    • Delphinia Duke meets a young Vincent Locke and forms a friendship that will lead to her being his mechanic on numerous ships.
    • Vincent's ship the May Belle is stolen.
  • 2512.
    • Kenneth Ling buys the Pussycat with his inheritance and renames it the Mao's Claw. He takes off with his friend "Heat". Nadie is left with her mother who starts to become more and more ill from Bowden's Malady.
    • Vincent's ship, Wu Long, is crippled during a job gone bad.
  • 2513.
    • Dr. Cage begins a period of sporadic employment on Ariel.
    • Nadie Ling's Mother passes away from complications of Bowden's Malady. Kenneth Ling comes back to Pick up his Nadie and take her with him.
  • 2515.
    • Dr. Cage begins working at Concord Community Hospital on Ariel. He is fired and his medical license revoked after he treats a suicide bomber.
    • Vincent's ship Daybreak is taken as compensation for a botched job.
  • 2516.
    • Dr. Cage begins working as Doc Johnson's assistant in Victoria Falls, Regina.
  • 2517.
    • July
      • Vincent's ship Skydancer is scuttled during an encounter with pirates.
      • Most of the crew of the Mao's Claw die when anti-matter is exposed to matter at the end of a job. Only Nadie Ling survives. She becomes the new owner and captain of the Claw.

Episodes 1 - 3

  • August
    • Bushwacked
      • Vincent's last ship, the Jack Burton, is destroyed by a pirate missile. Vincent is severely injured. Shortly after, the Mao's Claw rescues Vincent and his mechanic, DD.
      • Nadie and DD battle a Reaver and shut down the pirate asteroid base, allowing them to escape.
      • On Regina, DD, Vincent, and Doctor Phineas Cage sign up as crew for the Mao's Claw. James Heru works out a deal for passage to Paquin.
      • Sheriff Roy Chan of Victoria Falls on Regina hires the crew of the Mao's Claw to steal an Earth-That-Was artifact from a local dance hall owner. They have a bit of trouble with the job but get away with the card.
  • September
    • Shindig
      • The Mao's Claw lands on Paquin.
      • The baseball card is returned to it's owner, the leader of the Lucky Four Fingers Tong. The crew receives a job from him, transporting a pekingese dog to a Buddhist Monastery on Persephone. They also get a job hauling cargo to Haven.
    • The Mao's Claw lands on Persephone. Thugs hired by the Golden Turtle Tong try to steal the dog. In the process, the pekingese gets free and runs. He is picked up by Miss Virginia Montgomery.
    • The crew of the Mao's Claw attends a ball on Persephone and ultimately retrieve the dog. They give it to the Buddhist monks, finishing the job.
    • Phineas Cage shoots Colonel Angela Jones, killing her.

Episodes 4 - 6

  • October
    • Safe
      • The Mao's Claw lands on Haven. They get involved in a conflict between the people of Haven and the Corone Mining Consortium and end up saving the people there from reprogrammed mining robots.
    • The Mao's Claw is stolen on Beylix by Huxley T. Rawl. The crew tracks the Claw to Dandelion Station and successfully retrieve her.
    • Our Mrs. Reynolds
    • The Mao's Claw is hired by Victoria Saunders to pickup Corky Dalton and a package on Whitefall. They run into a little trouble with both pirates and the law but get Corky and the package. They return to Dandelion Station.

Episodes 7 - 8

  • December
    • Jaynestown
    • The Mao's Claw travels to Athens to salvage parts for repairs. During the operation, the crew gets in between a fugitive companion and some angry United Waste Services armored goons. They get into a fight and afterward uncover evidence of a secret bio-lab called Camp Gamma White. The connect this to Camp Beta White and decide to investigate.

    • Ariel
    • The Mao's Claw travels to ????????? to earn some money as part of a Train Robbery. Things go awry when the other team (on their side) decides it doesn't want to split the loot and they fight each other. Eventually the crew wins and comes out with adequate loot to finance the Gamma White assault.

SEASON TWO

Episode Prelude to 3

  • 2518 January
    • The Mao's Claw lands on St. Alban's but finds that Camp Gamma White has been destroyed.

    • Phineas Cage is fired from the crew and left on Dandelion Station.
    • Trash
    • The Mao's Claw takes a job to Serafina carrying Excess Baggage. En route they pick up a drifting shuttle with Bob on board. He leads them to the Speedwell, also adrift, where they come across a battle between would be pirates, and some strange resistance.
    • The_Message
    • The Crew of the Mao's Claw returns to the Speedwell after Vincent Locke is found to be near dead from blood loss sustained during the earlier fight. There, they encounter a Reaver-Like man, fight and beat him, repair the Speedwell's engines, and perform surgery on Locke. In the end they exit the Speedwell having sabotaged an airlock so the ship quickly lost air pressure. They assume all aboard were give a quick and painless death.
    • The Crew of the Mao's Claw land on Angel, in the Muslim city of Jibril. James and Vincent take on a short commission at the Harlequin Ranch (a woman's retreat). Del and Nadie date a member of the Gudducci mafia family. In the end they nab a bad guy and leave mostly unscathed.

Episodes 4 to 6

  • Late April
    • The Mao's Claw leaves Angel on a high speed illegal salvage run. Things go relatively smoothly. The crew shares a salvage with two other ships. The Mao's Claw flees when a United Reclamation Ship arrives. After some emergency maneuvers, they calculate that they have enough fuel to make it to Paquin (300 hours).
