Lucky Four Fingers Tong

The Lucky Four Fingers Tong was originally the Lucky Fingers Tong. It formed on Nova Lumina as a way of protecting the interests of the Sino community in an overwhelmingly Anglo city. Over time, a number of immigrants descended from those that lived in Japan on Earth-That-Was moved into Nova Lumina. They brought the Yakuza with them. As might be expected, sparks flew and things got so bloody it almost destroyed both organizations. Finally, the civilian constituents of both groups, fed up, demanded that things be settled peacefully or they'd end it themselves. A truce was called. At first, they remained seperate communities but over time the two merged. Eventually, the Lucky Fingers Tong became the Lucky Four Fingers Tong. The Yakuza custom of removing fingers as a penalty somehow transformed into a sign of devotion to the organization. Today, the Lucky Four Fingers Tong rules in Nova Lumina but they are seeking to expand onto Persephone.

Golden Turtle Tong

The Golden Turtle is the dominant Tong on Persephone. They have been weakened, however, by a myriad of "dock lords", men and women who run criminal enterprises out of the Eavesdown Docks. Lately, they've also begun losing ground to the Lucky Four Fingers Tong of Paquin.
