Character Generation
[edit]
Background
- Part of your background must involve playing the video game Polybius in the arcades. This would have been occurred in the suburbs around Portland, OR and during 1981.
- Your character must have suffered from some level of mental disorders that caused problems in his or her life. While your character doesn't have to be lacking in skills, he or she should be somewhat of a loser in life due to these problems.
- Check out the Polybius urban legend [[1]].
[edit]
System
- Characters will start at first level using normal chargen rules.
- I'll allow for point based generation as per the rules on page 15 of the D20 Modern sourcebook. As first level characters you have 25 points to spend.
- Alternatively, you can roll (4d6) six times, dropping the lowest number and assigning to attributes as you prefer. If you are unsatisfied with these numbers you can roll a second time but must keep what you get.
- Starting Occupations from other sourcebooks allowed.
- Apothecary from Urban Arcana (though the Arcana Skills feat won't be allowed)
- Mercenary from Dark*Matter
- Feats from other sourcebooks allowed. Pre-requisites must still be met. Not all of these can be taken during chargen but will be available through advancement.
- Fleet of Foot from Urban Arcana
- Improved Grapple from Urban Arcana
- Improved Natural Healing from Urban Arcana
- Jack of All Trades from Urban Arcana
- Power Crit from Urban Arcana
- Precise Strike from Urban Arcana
- Vehicle Specialization from Urban Arcana

House Rules
[edit]
Knowledge Skills
- Knowledge skills can be used untrained. In an age of Wikipedia and the Discovery channel, even someone who knows nothing about a subject might pick up some nugget of knowledge that could be useful.
[edit]
Running out of Ammo
- Instead of keeping track of ammunition, we'll be using the rule of 1. If you roll a 1 while shooting your gun, you've run out of bullets or darts or what-have-you.
[edit]
Non-Lethal Damage
- Non-Lethal damage will now be tracked separately and will be cumulative.
- When a character's non-lethal damage equals or exceeds his Constitution he must make a Fortitude (DC 15) save. Failure means he is knocked out. Success means he is stunned for a single round.
