Timothy Daring was a cop who upset the wrong people. They came after him, shot him, and threw him into the bayou. Something happened there and, somehow, Tim not only survived but gained the power to project and control fire. He uses these abilities as the guardian of his home state. He gained national exposure when the space shuttle Columbia was destroyed, despite his valiant efforts.
