Delphinia Duke didn't dream, or so she told herself, which explains why she could barely contain the scream as she startled upright from her bunk. The sweat was pouring down in rivulets from her forehead, like she was still hot from those flames...flames. There was a fire in the dream, she thought, and then immediately revised the thought.

There was a fire in her nightmare.

"I don't have nightmares." She spoke the words out loud, trying to shatter the silence that was crowding the room. "Bu Kuh Nuhn, I don't."

Sitting on the bunk, looking at her room, it seemed a little less friendly and welcoming than it had when she had gone to sleep. It had, after all, given sanctuary to a dark nightmare, sheltered it, given it comfort and then turned it loose on Del.

She shook her head. This must have been a bad one if it was making her have silly thoughts like that. She tried to remember the details, but what little details she might have remembered were already gone, like they had been burned clean by the same fire that had created them.

She stood up and grabbed her work clothes from where she had neatly folded them last night. She slipped them on, a comfortable second skin. She then took a peek at her multiband before slipping it on. 6 hours. More sleep than she'd been getting but that ain't enough to be getting regularly. Maybe she should talk with Nadie and see if she knew any Buddhist meditations that might help her sleep better.

She patted the wall of her room. "No point in wastin' the hours, right, Ship?" The secondary attuning coil needed to be fine tuned and cleaned a little, after all. She started singing a little bit of that catchy new Perilia Frances song she had heard on the Cortex the other day as she left the room, leaving the nightmares behind with it.
