When the Aerynth Empire collapsed, the governor of the province of
Gaum moved quickly and declared himself king. He secured the support
of the local human population though bribery, assassination, and
favors. He also changed the name of the provincial capital to his
own. Some of the finest weapons in Aeryn are made in Caris. Ore mined
from the nearby mountains are smelted and forged in local smithies.
The weapons are then exported all over Aeryn, though shopkeepers keep
the best for sale locally.
