Nikolas Sokav found the mythical labyrinth of Minos and spent three years mapping it out in secret, afraid others would steal credit for his find. At the center he discovered the skull of a bull. When he touched the skull, he was transformed into a minotaur. Determined to fight the recent Nazi occupation of his native Greece, the Battling Bull fought his way to England, where he was recruited for Operation: Alpha. At one point, during the war, he returned to Greece to help free the country from Nazi control but the resulting political power struggle disgusted him. He left to rejoin Operation: Alpha. What happened to him after the war is uncertain but it is known he had at least one child. His grandson would inherit his powers and become the criminal Minotaur.
